Title: TOP TOURISM AWARD FOR RAINOW COTTAGES

Kerridge End Holiday Cottages, in the picturesque Cheshire Peak District village of Rainow, has won the top regional tourism award for its accessibility for people with disabilities. Owners Ivor and Eluned WIlliams offer five-star self-catering accommodation in three luxurious cottages within their handsome, stone-built Grade II listed property.

They were joined on the winners' podium by Arley Hall & Gardens, which won the North West Tourism Awards 2009 Best Small Attraction award.

Kerridge End Holiday Cottages picked up top marks in the Tourism for All category at the North West Tourism Awards 2009. The honour recognises those tourism businesses which offer easy access to facilities to all customers, including people with visual or hearing impairments, or those using wheelchairs. Kerridge End’s portfolio comprises three luxury properties and the judges said they were impressed by the staff as well as the facilities within the Grade II-listed building.

Kerridge End Holiday Cottages and Arley Hall & Gardens were joined by fellow Cheshire Peak District shortlisted attractions and businesses Tatton Park and Harrop Fold Farm at the sixth annual awards ceremony, hosted by BBC North West Tonight presenter Ranvir Singh.

The two winners will now progress to the national awards organised by VisitEngland in April 2010.
